Telstra advises, overnight, their team made good progress, significantly reducing failed calls to Triple Zero. Telstra has now implemented a solution that has addressed the impact of this issue.
Mobile networks are complex, and Telstra is continuing to work through further changes to make sure Telstra has the most robust solution in place. Customers can feel confident calling Triple Zero. A Telstra network-level incident is affecting mobile calls and data. Here's what may be impacted and what to do.
What may be affected
SMS to Telstra mobile numbers Messages may fail or not be delivered during the outage. Check your delivery receipts and resend any failed messages once Telstra services are restored.
Voice calls to Telstra mobile numbers Calls may not connect. A retry will often complete the call.
Mobile SIM services Calls and data on the Telstra network may be affected.
New mobile activations May be delayed. No action needed on pending orders.
Emergency calls (000) If a 000 call from a mobile doesn't connect, it will automatically try any other available network. To be safe, use a fixed-line/landline phone or a device on another network if you can't get through.
We're monitoring closely and will confirm once Telstra resolves the issue.
